Regional dances from Mexico - Bailes Regionales de Mexico

Ballet Folklorico consists of local folk culture in various regions of Mexico with ballet charecteristics brought from Spaniards during colonizing movements that ocurred. Each region in Mexico,  U.S southwest regions and central america has its own unique style of dancing used to interpret the local culture in the region. The costumes and music reflect the living cultures of the region then and now. Tap dance, exaggerated moves, syncronized choreograpy, make up, hairstyles and much more creat what we know as folklorico dancing. Amalia Hernandez, one of the most reknown dance group directors in Mexico, is recognized globally for her work, starting the first dance company in 1960. Today, folkloric dancing has been influenced by a variety of different cultures, the primary ones being the U.S and Europe.

El Ballet Folklórico consiste de la cultura popular/local en varias regiones de Mexico con características de ballet traido de epanoles durante la conquista. Cada región en México, suroeste EE. UU. y América Central tienen su propio estilo de baile único que se utiliza para interpretar la cultura local en la región. Los trajes y la música reflejan las culturas vivas de la región antes y ahora. Zapateados, movimientos exagerados, coreografía sincronizada, maquillaje, peinados y mucho más hace el ballet folclórico. Amalia Hernández es reconocida mundialmente por su trabajo y comenzar la primer compañía de danza en 1960. Hoy en día, el baile folklórico ha sido influenciado por una variedad de culturas diferentes, siendo las principales Estados Unidos y Europa.
